How it works

Getting started takes three steps

  1. 1

    Free consult

A 20-minute call with you (and your child, if they'd like) to hear what's going on in class and at home.

  2. 2

    Quick check-in

In the first session I use a short, low-pressure skills check to see exactly which ideas are solid and which need work.

  3. 3

    A plan that fits

Weekly sessions built around your child's goals, with a short note after each one so you know what we covered.

About me

Hi, I'm Joseph.

I teach middle school math in Massachusetts. Every day I work with students who say they’re “just not math people,” and I’ve seen how much changes once a few missing pieces click into place.

Many of my students are working several grade levels behind or have IEPs, so I’m used to slowing down, finding the real starting point, and using models and visuals until an idea makes sense. Tutoring lets me give undivided attention to one student at a time, focusing on the skills that matter most to them.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

Where do sessions take place?

Online sessions use a shared video whiteboard, so all you need is a laptop or tablet. In-person sessions can meet at your home or a local library within about 15 miles.

When are you available?

Anytime outside of school hours: weekday afternoons and evenings, plus Saturdays and Sundays. Summer has even more open times.

My child is far behind. Can tutoring help?

Yes. Working with students who are behind is a big part of my classroom work. We start from what your child already knows and build forward, so they get wins early.

Do you work with students who have IEPs or 504 plans?

Yes. Share any accommodations that help your child, and I'll build them into our sessions.

What if we need to cancel?

Please give 24 hours' notice and we'll reschedule at no charge. Late cancellations are charged for the session.

How do I pay?

Payment is due at the time of each session or up front for packages. Venmo, Zelle, check and cash are accepted.
